The New Moon is a phase in the lunar cycle that offers a moment of reflection, insight, and exploration.
Where do we go from here?
How do our everyday decisions, choices, and actions affect our overall life?
First, tread gently. We have one week left of spring before summer is here in the Northern Hemisphere. There have been a few days of heat, which for some can be heavy and exhausting ~ mixed with work schedules and school activities, it is a busy time.
Today, the temperature has cooled, there is a breeze that encourages one to take a deep breath and pause.
Each day that passes has within it a succession of moments that unfold into weeks and months. Like the moon phases, we have seasonal transitions that lead us into different ways of living and learning. For the season of summer, I like to take as much space and breaks as possible. It is a time of play and rest, adventure and vacation, enjoyment and celebration. These last few days of spring remind me to hold space for all that is important, precious, and meaningful in life.
Each month, I create a nature mandala that reflects the current season of beauty, but holds an important place in my phase of knowing. Today is a Solar Eclipse in addition to the New Moon, and I am reminded how as the universe aligns momentarily, the cycle of life keeps going. This month, I'm taking a moment for my Dad whose dedication to home and family was a constant and palpable thread in my life. While he has been gone for 5 years now, his spirit lives on in the beauty that I see all around me.
Those that pass on are never really gone, they hold space in the hearts that remember.

I uploaded a ~70 minute practice from our last Community Class in May that was on the Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse, I think the practice resonates for today's New Moon and Solar Eclipse.
Enjoy!
